Welcome! These Terms of Service (the “Terms”) describe the terms and conditions of your relationship with renderlight (“renderlight,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). They apply to your use of (i) the website located at https://renderlight.dev and any other website we operate that links to these Terms (the “Website”), and (ii) the studio, tools, content and other resources available on or through the Website for generating images, video and audio with artificial intelligence models (together with the Website, the “Service”).
Read these Terms carefully. They govern your access to and use of the Service and apply to all visitors and users. By accessing or using the Service in any way, you represent that: (1) you have read, understand and agree to be bound by these Terms; (2) you are at least 18 years old (or the age of majority where you live, if higher) and able to form a binding contract with us; and (3) you are not barred from using the Service under the laws of your place of residence or any other applicable jurisdiction. If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not access or use the Service.
Membership notice. Generating requires an active monthly membership. If you start with a free trial, your membership begins and you are charged automatically when the trial ends unless you cancel before then. Your membership renews automatically each month at the then-current price until you cancel it as described in the Membership section below. Read that section carefully for all details.
Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect and use personal information, and is incorporated into these Terms by reference.
1. Use of the Service
1.1 Scope
The Service lets you write prompts, upload reference files and use third-party AI models to generate images, video and audio. Subject to these Terms, you may access and use the Service for your own personal or business purposes.
1.2 License
Subject to your compliance with these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable, revocable license to access and use the Service. This license does not include any right to resell the Service or access to it, to copy or modify it, or to use it to build a competing product.
1.3 Supplemental Terms
Some models and features are provided by third parties and may come with additional rules, usage policies or content filters (“Supplemental Terms”). Where Supplemental Terms apply to a model or feature you use, they form part of these Terms. If they conflict with these Terms, the Supplemental Terms control for that model or feature.
1.4 Updates
We may update the Service at any time, including its interface, workflows, tools and pricing. Updates are governed by these Terms unless we say otherwise when we release them.
1.5 Usage Limits
To keep the Service reliable for everyone, we may set limits on things like how many generations you can run at once, upload sizes, file formats and request rates. We may change these limits, and you agree not to try to get around them.
1.6 Changes to Models and Features
The models available in the Service come from third-party providers and change often. A model, setting or feature may be added, updated, re-priced, limited or removed at any time, including because its provider changes or withdraws it. We don’t guarantee that any particular model or feature will stay available.
2. Registration
2.1 Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority where you live, if higher) to use the Service. By using it you confirm that you meet this requirement and that your use complies with the laws that apply to you.
2.2 Registering Your Account
To generate, you need an account. You can register with an email address and password or by signing in with Google. You may not create an account for anyone else, use someone else’s account, or create more than one account to get around limits, pricing or a suspension.
2.3 Registration Data
You agree to give accurate, current and complete information when you register and to keep it up to date. We may suspend or close an account whose information is inaccurate or misleading.
2.4 Your Account
You are responsible for keeping your login details confidential and for everything that happens under your account. Tell us right away at support@renderlight.dev if you think your account has been used without your permission. We are not liable for losses caused by unauthorized use of your account.
3. Responsibility for Content
3.1 Types of Content
“Content” means any text, prompts, images, video, audio, files and other material. You are solely responsible for the Content you upload, submit or generate through the Service, and for making sure you have every right needed to use it.
3.2 Storage and Retention
Generated files and uploaded reference files are kept for 14 days and then deleted automatically. Your generation history (prompts and settings) may be kept longer so you can see and re-run past work. The Service is not a storage or backup service: download anything you want to keep. We are not responsible for Content that is deleted under this section or otherwise lost.
3.3 Inactive Accounts
If an account has had no membership and no sign-in for an extended period, we may close it after giving notice to the email address on the account.
4. Ownership
4.1 The Service
Apart from your Content and the third-party models we make available, the Service — including its software, design, text, graphics, logos and the renderlight name — is owned by us or our licensors and protected by intellectual-property laws. We keep all rights not expressly granted to you in these Terms.
4.2 Your Inputs and Outputs
As between you and us, you keep the rights you have in the prompts, files and other Content you submit (“Inputs”). To the extent permitted by law and subject to these Terms and any Supplemental Terms, we assign to you any rights we may have in the results the Service generates for you (“Outputs”), and you may use Outputs for personal and commercial purposes. Because of how AI models work, Outputs may not be protectable by copyright, and other users may receive similar or identical Outputs. Outputs generated for other people are not your Outputs.
4.3 License to Your Content
You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, copy, process, transmit and display your Inputs and Outputs only as needed to operate and provide the Service to you — including sending Inputs to the third-party model providers that generate your results — to keep the Service safe, and to comply with the law. This license ends when your Content is deleted from our systems, except for copies we must keep by law.
4.4 No Training on Your Content
We do not use your Inputs or Outputs to train our own AI models. Third-party model providers process your Inputs under their own terms.
4.5 Feedback
If you send us suggestions, ideas or other feedback about the Service, you agree we may use them for any purpose without paying you or giving you credit.
5. User Conduct and Certain Restrictions
5.1 Content Restrictions
You agree not to use the Service to create, upload or share Content that:
- sexualizes minors in any way, or depicts child sexual abuse;
- is sexually explicit, pornographic or otherwise NSFW (“not safe for work”), as described in “No NSFW Content” below;
- is sexual or intimate imagery of a real person made or shared without their consent;
- depicts a real, identifiable person in a defamatory, deceptive or degrading way, or impersonates someone without their permission;
- harasses, threatens or bullies anyone, or promotes violence or hatred against people or groups;
- is meant to deceive — for example election or health disinformation, fraud, scams, or fabricated evidence or documents presented as real;
- infringes anyone’s copyright, trademark, privacy, publicity or other rights;
- promotes or facilitates illegal activity, terrorism, weapons, self-harm, or the creation of malware; or
- breaks the usage policies of the model provider whose model you use.
5.2 No NSFW Content
renderlight does not allow NSFW Content of any kind. You may not use the Service to create, request, upload or share:
- nudity, including partial or implied nudity presented in a sexual way;
- sexual acts, pornography or sexually explicit Content;
- sexually suggestive or fetish Content; or
- graphic gore or extreme violence.
This applies to every Input and Output — prompts, uploaded images, videos and audio, and the generations they produce — whether the Content depicts a real person, a fictional character or an AI-generated one, and even if it is never shared. Trying to get around this rule, for example by rewording prompts to slip past filters, is itself a breach. We may block or delete NSFW Content without notice and suspend or close the accounts responsible.
5.3 Other Restrictions
You also agree not to:
- resell, sublicense, rent or share access to the Service or your account;
- scrape, crawl or use bots to access the Service, other than through features we provide for that purpose;
- circumvent credit charges, pricing, usage limits, content filters or any security measure, or exploit a bug instead of reporting it;
- reverse engineer, decompile or try to extract the source code of the Service;
- interfere with or overload the Service or the systems it relies on;
- use the Service to develop a competing product; or
- help or encourage anyone else to do any of these things.
5.4 Likeness and Biometric Information
If you upload an image, video or voice recording of a real person, you confirm that you are that person or have their permission (and, for a minor, their parent or guardian’s permission) to use their likeness or voice in the Service in the way you intend. We do not create face or voice templates to identify people.
5.5 Personal Information in Inputs
Don’t include other people’s personal information in your Inputs unless you have the right to. You are responsible for complying with privacy laws for any personal information you submit.
5.6 AI Disclosure
You agree not to present Outputs as human-made or as authentic records of real events where that would mislead people, and to label AI-generated Content where the law or a platform you publish on requires it.
6. Monitoring and Reporting
6.1 Monitoring
We are not obliged to monitor Content, but we may review Inputs and Outputs — automatically or manually — to operate the Service, investigate reports, enforce these Terms and comply with the law. Model providers may also screen requests with their own safety systems and refuse ones that break their rules.
6.2 Moderation
We may block, remove or refuse to generate any Content, and suspend or close any account, if we believe it breaks these Terms or the law or puts users, us or others at risk.
6.3 Disclosure
We may preserve and disclose Content and account information if we believe in good faith that it is reasonably necessary to comply with legal process, enforce these Terms, respond to claims, or protect the rights, property or safety of anyone.
6.4 Non-Consensual Intimate Imagery
We do not allow sexual or intimate imagery on the Service, and treat such imagery of a real person made or shared without their consent as the most serious breach of these Terms. If you believe such Content of you was made with the Service, email support@renderlight.dev with “Removal request” in the subject. We will review it promptly, remove confirmed Content, and close the accounts responsible.
6.5 Reporting Other Content
To report any other Content or conduct that you think breaks these Terms, email support@renderlight.dev with enough detail for us to find and review it.
7. Third-Party Services
The Service relies on third parties, including the AI model providers and model aggregators that run your generations, our payment processor Whop, and Google if you sign in with Google. Your use of those services may also be governed by their own terms and privacy policies.
We don’t control third-party services and aren’t responsible for their availability, content, outputs or practices. A model provider’s outage, policy change or refusal may affect your generations.
8. Purchase Terms and Refunds
8.1 Payment Processor
Purchases are processed by Whop, our third-party payment partner. Whop collects and stores your payment details; we do not. By buying something you also agree to Whop’s terms for that payment. Each checkout includes Whop’s transaction fee, passed through at cost and shown as its own line.
8.2 Payment
You agree to pay all charges for purchases you make, at the prices shown on our Pricing page when you buy, and you authorize Whop to charge your chosen payment method. Prices may change; a change never affects a purchase or membership period you have already paid for.
8.3 Credits
Generations are paid for with credits (“Credits”). The number of Credits a generation costs is shown before you start it, and is deducted from your balance when the generation starts. Credits are sold in one-time packs.
- Credits don’t expire while your account is open.
- Credits are a license to use the Service, not money or property. They have no cash value and can’t be sold, transferred, or exchanged for cash, except where the law requires.
- Credits are forfeited if your account is closed for breaking these Terms. If you close your account yourself, contact us first about any unused Credits.
- We may correct Credit balances that are wrong because of an error, fraud or a reversed payment.
8.4 Failed Generations
If a generation fails — for example, the model returns an error, times out or rejects the request — the Credits it used are returned to your balance automatically. A generation that completes but that you don’t like is not a failed generation.
8.5 Refunds
Because Credits are delivered instantly and spent on compute, purchases are generally non-refundable once Credits have been used. If you were charged in error, or you have an unused Credit pack you’d like refunded, email support@renderlight.dev within 14 days of the purchase and we’ll review it. Nothing in these Terms limits any refund rights you have under the consumer laws that apply to you.
8.6 Taxes
Prices may not include taxes. You are responsible for any sales, use, value-added or similar taxes on your purchases, other than taxes on our income.
9. Membership
9.1 Membership
Generating requires an active monthly membership (the “Membership”). The Membership covers the upkeep of the Service — servers, storage, bandwidth and support — and does not add Credits. Its current price is shown on our Pricing page.
9.2 Free Trial
New members may be offered a free trial of the Membership (currently 3 days). A payment method is required to start it. You are not charged during the trial. When the trial ends, your paid Membership starts automatically and you authorize us (through Whop) to charge your payment method the Membership price, plus any transaction fee and taxes, unless you cancel before the trial ends. One free trial per person; we may refuse a trial to an account, browser or payment method that has already used one. The trial covers the Membership only: generations still use Credits.
9.3 Automatic Renewal
Your Membership renews automatically at the end of each monthly period for another month, and you authorize us (through Whop) to charge your payment method the then-current Membership price, plus any transaction fee and taxes, at the start of each period, until you cancel.
9.4 Cancelling Your Membership
You can cancel at any time from Settings → Billing, which opens Whop’s billing portal. To avoid being charged for the next month, cancel before your current period ends. To avoid being charged at all after a free trial, cancel before the trial ends; access continues until then.
9.5 Effect of Cancellation
When you cancel, your Membership stays active until the end of the period you have paid for and then ends. You keep the Credits in your balance and can start a new Membership later to use them. Except as stated in the Refunds clause above, Membership fees are not refunded for partial periods.
9.6 Price Changes
We may change the Membership price. We’ll tell you before a new price applies to you, and it takes effect at the start of your next period after the notice. If you don’t agree, cancel before then.
10. Indemnification
To the fullest extent permitted by law, you agree to defend, indemnify and hold harmless renderlight and its owners, employees and agents from any claims, losses, damages, liabilities and costs (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising from (a) your Inputs or your use of Outputs, (b) your use of the Service, (c) your breach of these Terms, or (d) your violation of any law or anyone else’s rights.
11. Disclaimer of Warranties
11.1 Service Offered As-Is
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, non-infringement and quiet enjoyment, to the fullest extent permitted by law.
11.2 Outputs
Outputs are produced by AI models and may be inaccurate, unexpected, offensive or similar to content created by others. We do not warrant that any Output will be accurate, original, fit for your purpose or free of third-party rights. You are responsible for reviewing Outputs before you rely on or publish them.
11.3 Meeting Requirements
We do not warrant that the Service will meet your requirements, be available without interruption, or be secure, timely or error-free, or that any particular model will remain available.
11.4 Third-Party Infrastructure
We are not responsible for the acts, omissions, outages or outputs of third-party model providers, hosting providers, payment processors or other services the Service relies on.
12. Limitation of Liability
12.1 Disclaimer of Certain Damages
To the fullest extent permitted by law, in no event will renderlight be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data or goodwill, arising out of or related to these Terms or the Service, whether based on contract, tort (including negligence), statute or any other legal theory, even if we were told such damages were possible.
12.2 Cap on Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability for all claims arising out of or related to these Terms or the Service will not exceed the greater of (a) the amounts you paid us in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) one hundred U.S. dollars (US $100).
12.3 Basis of the Bargain
These limitations are an essential part of the bargain between you and us, and apply even if a limited remedy fails of its essential purpose. Some jurisdictions don’t allow certain exclusions or limitations, so some of them may not apply to you.
13. Claims of Intellectual Property Infringement
We respect intellectual-property rights. If you believe Content on the Service infringes your copyright or other rights, send a notice to support@renderlight.dev that includes:
- your physical or electronic signature;
- a description of the work you claim is infringed;
- a description of the infringing Content and where it is, so we can find it;
- your name, address, telephone number and email address;
- a statement that you believe in good faith that the use is not authorized by the owner, its agent or the law; and
- a statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the owner or authorized to act on the owner’s behalf.
We may remove the Content and, in appropriate circumstances, close the accounts of repeat infringers.
14. Term and Termination
14.1 Term
These Terms apply from when you first use the Service until they are terminated as described here.
14.2 Termination by Us
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time if you breach these Terms, if we must do so by law, or if continuing to provide the Service to you would create risk for us or others. Where reasonable we’ll tell you why.
14.3 Termination by You
You may stop using the Service at any time. To close your account, cancel your Membership and email support@renderlight.dev from the address on the account.
14.4 Effect of Termination
When your account is closed, your right to use the Service ends and your Content may be deleted. Sections of these Terms that by their nature should survive — including Ownership, Indemnification, Disclaimer of Warranties, Limitation of Liability, Disputes and General Provisions — survive termination.
14.5 No Subsequent Registration
If we close your account for breaking these Terms, you may not create a new account without our written permission.
15. Users Outside the U.S.
15.1 International Access
The Service is operated online and may be accessed from many countries. If you use it from outside the United States, you are responsible for complying with the laws that apply where you are.
15.2 Right of Withdrawal (EU/EEA and UK Consumers)
If you are a consumer in the EU, EEA or UK, you may have a right to withdraw from a purchase within 14 days. Because Credits and the Membership are digital services delivered immediately, when you buy you ask us to start performance right away and acknowledge that you lose the right of withdrawal for Credits once you use them. To withdraw from an unused purchase, email support@renderlight.dev within 14 days.
16. Disputes
16.1 Informal Resolution
Before bringing a formal claim, you agree to email support@renderlight.dev with a description of the dispute and the relief you want, and to give us 60 days to try to resolve it informally. We’ll do the same before bringing a claim against you.
16.2 Governing Law
These Terms and any dispute arising from them or the Service are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which the operator of renderlight is established, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. If you are a consumer, this does not take away the protection of mandatory laws of the country where you live.
16.3 Venue
Any dispute not resolved informally will be decided exclusively by the courts of the jurisdiction in which the operator of renderlight is established, and you and we consent to their jurisdiction, except that either of us may bring an individual claim in small-claims court, and consumers may bring a claim in the courts where they live where the law allows.
17. General Provisions
17.1 Electronic Communications
You consent to receive communications from us electronically, by email or in the Service, and agree that these satisfy any legal requirement that such communications be in writing.
17.2 Assignment
You may not assign or transfer these Terms without our prior written consent. We may assign them, including in connection with a merger, acquisition or sale of assets.
17.3 Force Majeure
We are not liable for delays or failures caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including outages of third-party providers, internet or power failures, natural disasters, war, labor disputes or government action.
17.4 Questions, Complaints, Claims
If you have questions, complaints or claims about the Service, contact us at support@renderlight.dev.
17.5 Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We’ll post the new version here and update the “Last updated” date, and for material changes we’ll notify you by email or in the Service before they take effect. Continuing to use the Service after changes take effect means you accept them.
17.6 Notice
We may send notices to the email address on your account. You can send notices to us at support@renderlight.dev.
17.7 Waiver
Our failure to enforce any part of these Terms is not a waiver of our right to enforce it later.
17.8 Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, it will be limited to the minimum extent necessary and the rest of these Terms will remain in effect.
17.9 Export Control
You may not use the Service if you are located in, or are a resident of, a country or region subject to comprehensive sanctions, or if you are on a government list of restricted parties. You agree to comply with applicable export and sanctions laws.
17.10 Headings
Headings are for convenience only and do not affect how these Terms are interpreted.
17.11 Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and any Supplemental Terms, are the entire agreement between you and us about the Service and replace any prior agreements on that subject.
